If you have heard whispers of the T.E.A. Society at TeslaCon and wondered what exactly it is, you are not alone. To clear the fog, we sat down with two of its chapter leaders, Lady Amelia McKraken and Lord Augustus McKraken, to ask the obvious questions...
~ What is the T.E.A. Society? ~
Lady Amelia McKraken: The T.E.A. Society is the TeslaCon Explorers & Adventurers Society. It is a special group within TeslaCon for attendees who want something a little more immersive, interactive, and delightfully absurd. We create special adventures, games, mysteries, and themed experiences that go beyond simply attending panels or strolling the halls.
Lord Augustus McKraken: Aye, it is for those who wish to do more than merely sip tea and look mysterious, though that is certainly permitted! The T.E.A. Society is where you join the adventure!!
~ So this is not just another badge ribbon or club in name only? ~
Lady Amelia: Not at all. Each year, the T.E.A. Society hosts special events that are built just for its members. In past years, that has included large-scale interactive mystery games, themed competitions, and even a fully Egyptian-themed escape room. The goal is to give members a memorable experience that feels like they have stepped into an adventure story.
Lord Augustus: And not a timid little story either. We mean proper adventure. Secret clues. Competitive games. Strange happenings. Factions, puzzles, conspiracies, and occasionally situations that seem only barely under control.
~ That does sound very TeslaCon. Who should join? ~
Lady Amelia: Anyone who loves immersive fun. You do not need prior experience, a certain skill set, or a particular friend group. Some members join because they love puzzles. Others simply enjoy the chance to compete in unusual games. Each year is a little different, but the goal is always the same: to give members something memorable, immersive, and distinctly TeslaCon.
Lord Augustus: In short: if you have ever thought, “I should like to solve a mystery, survive a curse, or hurl something improbable at a target while dressed in splendid fashion,” then you are very much our sort of person.
~ How does someone join? ~
Lady Amelia: Joining is simple. You purchase the T.E.A. Society ticket through TeslaCon’s ticketing page at https://teslacon.com/tickets/. We refer to that ticket as your “dues.” Once you have paid your dues, you are part of the Society and eligible to participate in the special T.E.A. Society events for that year.
~ And what do those dues support? ~
Lady Amelia: The dues help fund the experience itself. They go directly toward the props, puzzles, supplies, materials, and other elements that bring the T.E.A. Society events to life.
Lord Augustus: Which is to say: the dues are not vanishing into some smoky vault. They are transformed into clues, contraptions, decorations, challenges, and all the delightful nonsense required to create a proper adventure.
~ So when someone joins, they are not just buying access. They are helping make the event happen? ~
